Camden Hills Wildlife Trust has organized to preserve the natural resources supporting a wildlife corridor between the Camden Hills State Park and the shores of Penobscot Bay and Sherman’s Cove.
The undeveloped forests, streams, and brooks connecting the lands around Camden Hills State Park form a unique wildlife corridor from the mountains to the sea. These unbroken habitats sustain a rich diversity of wildlife — white-tailed deer, wild turkeys, fox, coyotes, cottontails, fishers, mink, and countless other native species that depend on connected, undisturbed terrain to thrive.
Along the shoreline, undeveloped stretches serve as critical foraging and nesting grounds for eagles, osprey, and diverse waterfowl, providing essential stopover habitat for the many migratory birds that pass through each season.
